What A Painful Loss of A Big Brother

I woke up this morning praying, hoping it was not true that Innocent had passed on. What a painful loss of a big brother, friend, mentor, democracy-builder, fighter of injustice, change maker and compassionate human being!
We were just talking with Innocent about his plans for Oxford and Oluaka, now this. What a painful loss! Oh death!
Our consolation is in the presence, brilliance, humor and human connection he brought to each and every interaction, he always quietly lit up a room. Its hard to accept Innocent’s passing and I pray Josephine and the children find comfort in his incredible life’s work, in beautiful memories of Innocent- a devoted family man- and in the goodwill and impact he established in the lives of many. Though we miss him sorely, his legacy lives on. He made a difference in his time. May Innocent’s gentle soul, through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace this Eastertide. Rest in glory dear friend.
