Dear Ford Foundation Colleagues,
On behalf of PartnersGlobal and the Partners Network, we wanted to send to you our deepest condolences for the passing of Innocent. Like so many other colleagues around the world, we are shocked and saddened by this news. But I can only imagine for the Ford community, how much you are feeling this loss.
Innocent was a very special person for us at Partners, as we launched our work in Nigeria several years ago with the CLEEN Foundation, and then Innocent was supportive of us and Kemi Okenyodo as we eventually branched out together to establish Partners West Africa Nigeria. As I have mentioned prior, with the Ford Foundation West Africa office’s early support, Partners was able to test out our diversified revenue approach for civil society in Nigeria and Senegal that eventually grew into our broader Resiliency+ Framework.
Innocent planted the seeds for so much of our collective work in the region and globally. His legacy will live on and we feel blessed to have been able to work with him.
Our thoughts are with his family and all of you at his Ford Foundation family. It’s a difficult time now as we are grieving for so much loss and cannot be together to celebrate the memory of such important people in our lives. But we will honor Innocent’s memory by continuing the good work.
